GenoChild: Gene-based optimization of childhood obesity treatment

Childhood obesity is a major health concern, and obesity-related complication are now often observed in children and often carry on into adulthood. Even though the best childhood obesity treatment in Denmark shows treatment standards among the best in the world, 15-25% of patients do still not respond to the behavioural treatment. Since genetic factors are deeply involved in the development of obesity, the GenoChild project seeks to improve and individualize childhood obesity treatment through improved understanding of the individual genetic factors influencing obesity treatment efficacy.
